C-nox was commissioned to provide a flare system as emergency disposal facility in the south-west of Germany that could combust both raw biogas and biomethane at the same time and environmentally friendly.

It has been designed a flare system with two different burner systems, however both of which are integrated into one flare body. Biomethane with a calorific value of 90 .... 98Vol% CH4, as well as normal crude gas with a calorific value of 55.... 67 Vol%  CH4 is due to the C-nox Two in One - Flare completely disposed in accordance to TA-Luft.

This was made possible by the so-called "C-nox All in One" burner.  A burner nozzle system specially developed by C-nox is capable for combustion of different caloric gases. Due to the high calorific value of biomethane it results to a strong heat development inside the combustion chamber of the flare. Therefore the combustion chamber is insulated with a special ceramic high temperature insulation.

The flare system has at the central entrance to the flare two connectors, one biomethane, once raw biogas, with respective manual shut-off valve. The flare system furthermore have a central insulated flare tube with an inner diameter of about 2.10 m. The lower part of the flare, as so-called flare body, is the area for the required gas lines, safety valves and distribution of biomethane for gas flows, as well as raw biogas.

The plant is operating successfully in spring 2012.
